We’ve been working on a project that I wanted to talk about with some of my friends.
Eons ago, in 1998, I began to build community-orientated websites. I got sued, they lost. I lost my momentum. End of story. Fast forward to 2008. I launch Morrisseau.com and put into practice what I learned from my previous experience. Morrisseau.com achieved what it set out to do. Fast forward to 2022.
In the coming weeks, at www.Canada2.com, we will be launching Canada’s Internet Community Centre. Canada2 is practical, locally-focused, scale-able to millions of people, open source, uniquely flexible, and above all, necessary. People are disenchanted with Facebook, and rightly so. We are offering Canadians a viable alternative.
When people gather and move together as one our collective ability to qualify or disqualify policies, products and services substantially increases. Our world becomes both safer and freer. Canada2 is a common ground platform; not a pyramid. A social utility operated, maintained and developed by those who use it. The Canadian People’s Network is entirely free. As a small business orientated co-operative Canada2 is maintained by spin-off contributions from the members who benefit most from utilizing it.
Personal, Business, Community, and Geographic Profiles are available to everyone. Using cutting-edge tools members upload, share and archive all media types, live stream, employ messenger, video conference, facilitate workshops, and even operate product and services e-commerce venues. Canada2 is NOT a proprietary intranet. There will be no surveillance or targeted ads to deal with. People can choose to be as open or private as they wish. Unlike Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others, Canada2 members have the option of making their content publicly searchable on Google and elsewhere.
Life is a circle they say. The Canada2 website is a culmination and a coming together for me. I’ve promised myself success. Brona and I have both been working diligently in preparation for liftoff and are thrilled at the progress, however there’s still a ways to go. Are you free to join us on this great adventure?
